the sizes we reach for most in living and dining rooms. a 6x9 works well with the front legs of your sofa on the rug. an 8x10 gives everything a little more room and can accommodate a dining table for four to six, with enough space to pull out a chair comfortably.

for bigger rooms, open spaces, and anywhere you want the rug to really anchor the room. a 9x12 can comfortably hold a full living room setup or dining table for six to eight. a 10x14 or 12x15 is made for generous spaces and works beautifully under a king bed with plenty of rug extending beyond it.

a good rule of thumb: start with your room, not the rug. measure the space and aim to leave around 12 to 18 inches of floor between the rug and the walls. in a dining room, give yourself about 24 inches beyond the table on every side so the chairs stay on the rug when you pull them out.

vacuum weekly on a low setting, taking care around the fringes. you may notice some loose fibers at first, which is a natural part of the finishing process and will lessen with regular vacuuming. blot spills with a dry cloth and use a wool-safe detergent for stains. avoid rubbing. for stubborn stains, we recommend professional cleaning.

we recommend a rug pad underneath to keep your rug in place, add a little cushioning, and protect it from everyday wear.
